We all need words of encouragement sometimes. I am talking about words that go beyond “Don’t Give Up” or “Believe in Yourself.” I am not knocking them because I share this advice and will continue to do so. Those words are important. But, let me share what a friend told me recently about success. He said, “You have to out work your opponent.” That is powerful. You have to be willing to go that extra mile (sometimes, ten extra miles). You may have to stay up a little later or study a little harder and that’s okay. Do what you have to do to ensure you and your business make it to the top.
Know who you are and what you represent. Know your brand. Your brand is your promise to your customer. It’s also important to know how and where to market yourself and your services. Be sure to always follow your dreams. Don’t let those who envy you, stop you from achieving your goals.
We all know this, but there is no harm in reading it again. You have to be confident in your skills. It’s crucial to know and stay updated on the latest trends in your field. I almost fell out of my seat when I heard a young person share this tip with his peers. “Don’t let anyone take away the common sense that was given to you.” Let me drop the mic on that one and exit stage left.
