Growth and an increase in revenue are at the top of every small business owner’s list. According to James Cash Penney, the founder of JCPenney, “Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together." Don’t you love it when a plan falls into place? When it happens, you have to be prepared for the boost.
Entrepreneurs, be sure you are ready for expansion. Be ready for the increased workload. This could mean hiring additional staff. It doesn’t hurt to make a few calls now or have a few resumes on hand, so that you can easily hire the right people to do the job. Know their strengths and weaknesses. Know where they fit in your company.
Growth also means making sure your paperwork is in order. Don’t forget about time sheets and software for payroll. Of course, be able to accept all types of payments and have a system in place to make your payments. As your business grows, always remember your vision and mission. Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’. Do what your business does best. Evolve at your pace!
